Mrs Dionne Hamil
Dionne is responsible for helping the University achieve the highest positive profile in the international, national and regional media. Her remit includes liaison with academics, media monitoring, crisis communications, assistance on corporate issues and stakeholder relations, and media training. Dionne is the media office contact for Anthropology, Applied Social Sciences, Classics and Ancient History, Computer Science, English Studies, History, Medicine and Health, and Psychology.
Background and expertise
Dionne is an experienced communicator with over ten years experience in public and private sector public relations. She was a public relations officer for Newcastle Airport with responsibility for community, internal and media relations as well as crisis communications. She has also worked within the charity sector combining events organisation and media relations.
Outside work, Dionne enjoys playing football, spending time with her two young children, and going on trips away across the North East and the Lake District. She also raises funds for her son’s primary school through involvement in the Parent Teachers Association.
