Schedule of Student Records Activity

Below is an approximate timeline of student records data collection. Please follow the links included in the table for further information on each process. For a more precise schedule (including deadlines) please visit the 2018/19 Schedule of Student Records Activity.

OCT New student programme registration data submission (student records creation) TEIs send programme registration data to Durham for new students. Durham verifies the data and uploads it to Banner to create new student records. Once records are created, Durham circulates Banner IDs to TEIs.
MID-OCT Update on changes to registration Durham sends TEIs a snapshot of the data currently held in Banner. TEIs send Durham any changes to existing student registration details. Durham updates Banner records. The deadline for changes to be included in the December census will be mid-November.
NOV Campus card production TEIs send campus card photographs to Durham, in order for campus cards to be printed for students.
SEPT-NOV TEI Boards of Examiners guidance TEIs confirm module marks and progression
NOV Students marks data submission After their Board of Examiners meeting, TEIs send module marks data to Durham for their completing students. Durham adds marks to Banner.

DU overarching Boards of Examiners

Durham confirms awards and classifications.
1ST DEC Census date On 1st December of each academic year, Durham takes a snapshot of TEIs’ student records data in Banner; this is used to calculate TEI validation fees. Please note: TEIs will be charged for any students who withdraw after the census date.
JAN Graduation Graduation ceremony held at Durham Cathedral.
JAN Students marks data submission Durham sends TEIs a spreadsheet of module registration details for the previous year’s continuing students. TEIs send module marks data to Durham for their continuing students. Durham adds marks to Banner.
APRIL New student programme registration data submission (student records creation)
for late entrants
TEIs send programme registration data for late entrants to Durham. Durham verifies the data and uploads it to Banner to create new student records. Once records are created, Durham circulates Banner IDs to TEIs.
APRIL APL credits data submission TEIs send APL credits data for their all new students to Durham. Durham verifies the data and adds the APL credits to Banner records.
APRIL Module registration data TEIs send module registration data for all students to Durham. Durham verifies the data and uploads it to Banner.
MAY Census date for late entrants 6 weeks after the April programme registration data submission deadline, Durham takes a snapshot of TEIs’ late entry student records data in Banner; this is used to calculate TEI validation fees. Please note: TEIs will be charged for any late entry students who withdraw after the census date.
MAY Campus card production TEIs send campus card photographs to Durham, in order for campus cards to be printed.
MAY-JUNE TEI Boards of Examiners TEIs confirm module marks and progression
