2. Action by the Vice-Chancellor: CH: to report: that the Vice-Chancellor, acting on behalf of Senate and the Chairman of Council on behalf of Council where appropriate, have approved the following items of business since the last meeting of Senate:
a) Acting Deputy Chair Senate Discipline Committee (SDC)
The appointment of Professor David Petley, Executive Director of the Institute of Hazard and Risk Research, as Acting Deputy Chair of SDC to consider an urgent disciplinary matter during the absence of both the SDC Chair and Deputy Chair.
b) Head of Department
The appointment of Professor Jon Gluyas, Department of Earth Sciences, for a period of 3 years from 4 April 2011.
c) Partnership with DBS, ICAEW and KPMG
The collaboration of Durham Business School with, the official chartered professional body, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW), and the internationally recognised firm of accountants KPMG.
