How do I stand?

You must first nominate yourself to express an interest to serve on the committee.

Please complete an online nomination form by the deadline 5pm, Monday 10 May 2021. Nominations submitted after this time will not be accepted.

Each nomination form must include details of the candidate’s proposer and seconder. Proposers and seconders must be members of the Assembly, and cannot be ex-officio members of Senate (i.e. members of the Executive, Heads of Department, Heads of College, the Dean of the Graduate School, the University Librarian and the Chief Information Officer).

Nominations must also include a short (200 word maximum) statement which demonstrates how each candidate meets the following:

  • sufficient relevant experience of teaching and/or research to be able to contribute effectively to discussions on academic policy at Senate
  • this experience should be derived from playing a significant and direct role in these activities at an appropriate level
