Durham University

Colleges and Student Experience Division

Experience Durham

Experience Durham is at the heart of the Wider Student Experience, working in partnership with Durham’s Colleges and the Students’ Union to provide inspiring opportunities for students, staff and members of the local and regional community to participate, develop and excel. The Department has specific responsibility for Music, Theatre, Volunteering & Community Outreach, and Sport across the institution and, as a department integral to delivering key elements of the Student Experience, will also be expected to co-ordinate other University-wide initiatives as part of the evolving University and Divisional Strategy. Current examples of this include the new Durham Inspired Award and the Student Leadership Framework. Our dedicated staff team work to invest in our students outside of the classroom, as well as reach out into the local community, forging vital connections across the North East, as well as globally. We have an active and vibrant alumni network, and this allows us to continue developing our future whilst learning lessons from the past.
