Colleges and Student Experience Division
One of the three core pillars of the Academic Strategy 2017-2027 is the Wider Student Experience. The University aims to ensure that Durham students will enjoy an unrivalled ethos and environment in which to pursue the highest quality of student experience, through which they will further develop qualities of independence, self-expression, creativity, teamwork, leadership and a strong sense of social citizenship.
The Colleges and Student Experience Division – encompassing the fourteen Maintained Colleges, the Student Support and Wellbeing Directorate, Experience Durham and the Operations Directorate – exists to provide the primary focus for delivery of this core part of the University’s Academic Strategy. The Division is co-ordinated and managed at a senior level by the Divisional Management Board, consisting of all the direct reports to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor other than the Heads of Colleges (who are represented on the Board by the Chair of Colleges). The Management Board maintains collective oversight of the broad portfolio of business-as-usual activities and change initiatives across the Division.
