We are involved in a number of events, both local to Durham, and others at a more national level - and with the digital - also the potential to reach a global audience:
In June 2017, the Methodist Church is encouraging churches and circuits across the Connexion to run a 'Bible Month', 30 days focused on the letter of James.
By focusing on a single biblical book, the aim of the Bible Month is to help all in church engage more deeply with Scripture. A pilot project showed that the Bible Month model could be effective in raising biblical literacy, and the majority of those who took part were keen to hold another Bible Month in the future! for more informatoin on Bible Month see http://www.methodist.org.uk/prayer-and-worship/bible-month/introducing-bible-month
The link below shows the training day event at Sheffield with Kate Bruce and Pete Phillips as the main speakers.
Regular lunchtime seminars held at St John's College giving insights into 'digital theology' related research, livestreamed/recorded where possible. FREE to attend.
A competitively-priced annual week-long conference in June, held at St John's College (Durham), designed for those training for Christian leadership and those already engaged in Christian ministry. The course explores Christian ministry and the media, and has been highly praised by previous delegates (even those who started out skeptical!).
We work with Premier Christian Media for this annual day conference, held in London in the late autumn, with around 35 expert speakers, and nearly 600 delegates seeking to understand how to flourish online within a Christian context, from beginners to those seeking to dive in more deeply.
These popular day events are organised by Rev Dr Kate Bruce in association with other organisations.
The Big Read is an annual Lent course organised by The BIGBible Project, freely available to download online, encouraging meeting together in housegroups to read the Bible, but also taking the opportunity to join in 'bigger Bible conversations' with others online. On hold for 2015.
