Planned Maintenance for multiple services

We will be carrying out planned maintenance work which will affect multiple services between 15:00 18 September 2021 and 21:00 18 September 2021. The affected services will be:

We are carrying out this work to Perform routine maintenance. Whilst the work is taking place, users may experience a loss of service.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and will work to keep any potential disruption to a minimum.

During this maintenance there will be a total loss of service within our datacentres which means all services hosted in our datacentres will be unavailable; this includes many network services such as Telephony, Wireless and Wired network as well as applications such as AppsAnywhere, Banner etc.

You should save your work before the maintenance commences and ensure you are logged out of applications like Banner to avoid any loss of data.

Access to systems hosted in the cloud, such as Microsoft 365, Oracle HCM etc will be unaffected by this work and they can continue to be accessed as normal.

During this maintenance there will be a total loss of service within our datacentres which means all services hosted in our datacentres will be unavailable; this includes many network services such as Telephony, Wireless and Wired network as well as applications such as AppsAnywhere, Banner etc.

You should save your work before the maintenance commences and ensure you are logged out of applications like Banner to avoid any loss of data.

There may be a risk to systems hosted in the cloud, such as Microsoft 365, Oracle HCM etc.

Please note, during the disruption the security office lines 0191 3342222 and 0191 334333 will be out of operation. If you need to speak with Security or to facilitate the Major Incident escalation processes and reporting of other emergencies during these interruptions, please ring the on-call Business Resilience Manager on 07831 247689 (18th September) or 07834567779 (21st September).

CIS are aware there are virtual Open Days taking place throughout the day and we have put mitigations in place to ensure the event can continue to run successfully, please refer to the email you will have received from the Open Days Team.

We began this work earlier in the month, however, CIS were unable to complete some activities during the planning maintenance window. We appreciate this is short notice and a very busy time of year, however, as the work is time critical we need to schedule this in ahead of the start of term.
