Planned Maintenance for Network
We will be carrying out planned maintenance work which will affect Network between 07:00 10 February 2020 and 08:00 18 February 2020.
We are carrying out this work to Perform routine maintenance. Whilst the work is taking place, users may experience interruptions to service.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and will work to keep any potential disruption to a minimum.
What is happening?
As part of a major IT infrastructure project, the Big 3, we will be making significant improvements to the University’s storage, hosting and network. The Big 3 will improve our IT foundations to ensure they are robust, resilient and fit for the future.
We are in the process of updating the existing University network with more modern, resilient and efficient technology and additional network connections. In doing this, we will reduce the risk of disruption to IT services due to equipment failure, giving us all a more reliable network and improving the user experience.
From Monday 10th February to 17th February between the hours of 7am and 8am we will be migrating multiple locations to our new network core:

Whilst the work is carried out, all IT services will be unavailable in these areas, this will include the wired network, wireless, telephones, CCTV, Audio Visual and Door Access system.
