Access VPN is part of our Remote Access service and provides eligible users with a method of connecting to the University network from any location via the Internet.
Access VPN gives users on non-managed devices (often referred to as BYOD) a secure connection to network resources which otherwise would not be accessible when working remotely. Access VPN also allows managed windows devices (MDS) access to network resources/applications which are restricted by enhanced security or network controls (Oracle Financials and Oracle Discoverer)
Please note as our managed windows users (MDS) should have MDS Remote installed, MDS users do not need to use the Access VPN except in a small number of cases where access to resources/applications are restricted by enhanced security or network controls, at present these are Oracle Financials and Oracle Discoverer.
Existing Pulse secure users: the network resources available to users when connecting via the Access VPN should match those you would expect to see when connecting using 2-Factor Authentication on Pulse Secure. The Access VPN service will sit alongside Pulse Secure until it is decommissioned, but we would urge users to move to the new VPN as soon as possible.
Once connected to the VPN you will be able to access network resources off-campus.
Instructions on how to connect using Access VPN can be found here.
