Computing & Information Services provide limited support to help you connect to online games. We have worked with students, game publishers and the wider gaming community to collate the information required to get the most popular games working on the University network.
However, please be aware that our support for gaming will always be at a lower priority than our support for research, teaching and learning. We must also ensure the University network (and your work!) is kept secure at all times and so limit the access available to external sites. Online games tend to be updated often too – in many cases we will need to update our settings with each game update to keep it available to you. If you cannot get connected to a game listed below as available please contact the IT Service Desk providing as much information as possible.
There is currently no support for gaming consoles as these present an added level of complexity when connecting to the University network.
Games currently available on the University network
- Battle.net Service and associated games
- League of Legends
- SuperCell games
- Steam Service (not individual games)
- Minecraft (servers added on adhoc basis)
- Origin Service (not individual games)
If you would like us to add a new game to the list, please let us know by completing our online form (you'll need to enter your CIS username and password to see the form). The form asks for some specific information - the more information we have from you, the easier it is for us to help.
