Mac users: virus warning

CIS have advice for Mac users in light of the recent Trojan virus affecting Mac devices world wide. If you use a Mac on the University network, please take a few moments to make sure you take appropriate measures to protect yourself.


You may have noticed reports in the press about a Trojan virus which is affecting around 60,000 machines worldwide. As we have seen a number of infected machines on the Durham network, Mac users need to ensure that their machines are running with the latest updates. You should also check your machine has not been infected by the virus. If you don't already, we strongly recommend that you install an anti-malware package and keep it up to date.
