New for '19
Over the past year, you told us what you wanted to see from CIS. We've listened, and we're pleased to announce that we've solved these pain points, and a lot more.
We want to make life easier for our staff and students, and New for '19 is about showcasing some of the ways we're making your IT experience even better.
What's new for students in '19?
We've made some great changes for our students. Firstly, we've gotten rid of the start of term authentication process for your devices, so you no longer need to scan your devices when you come on campus.
We've given you more flexibility around storage; you've now got 5MB J drive storage, or 1TB cloud-based storage using OneDrive.
You've also got free access to Office 365 - so no need to buy your own Office software. What's more you can access this via AppsAnywhere - giving you access to over 400 software applications from any device, anywhere in the world.
But perhaps most exciting for everyone in College, we've introduced Link IT which allows you to create your own secure, personal network in your College room.
What's new for staff in '19?
Like students, staff have also been given more flexibility for the storage of personal data, and we've introduced a new storage solution for research-active staff. Personal Research Storage (PRS) and Shared Research Storage (SRS) are now live and provide secure, highly available storage to meet research needs.
Staff can also benefit from AppsAnywhere - giving you access your work software even if you are working from home or another location.
