Use of campus card photographs
The digital photograph you provide will be used as identification on your campus card. It may also be used for the following purposes:
- College or Departmental lists that may be displayed in public buildings within the University.
- Attached to electronic student records that can be viewed by any member of University staff
- Attached to hard copy student personal files that are stored securely and accessible to members of the appropriate College or Department only.
- Publication on a departmental website where the photograph is on password restricted pages and accessible to members of that Department only
To prevent your digital photograph being used for one or more of the purposes above, you should submit a request in writing outlining your reasons for prevention to:
The Academic Registrar
The Palatine Centre
You must include your full name and Student ID Number in this letter and submit it within one week of the start of your programme of study. The Academic Registrar will consider your case. You also have a right under the Data Protection Act 1998 to request at any other time of the year that the University ceases to use your digital photograph for one or more of the purposes above. Again, you must submit a request in writing outlining your reasons for it to the Academic Registrar.
