17-18 timetable - now open for registration

Language Accelerator courses (20 weeks | 3 hours per week (stages 1 & 2), 2 hours per week (stage 4) | £350)

Courses run from week commencing Mon 16 Oct to week ending Fri 15 Dec (9 weeks) + week commencing Mon 15 Jan to week ending Fri 16 March (9 weeks) + week commencing Mon 23 April to week ending Fri 4 May (2 weeks).

Stage 1 and 2 accelerator courses comprise of a 2-hour evening class, plus an additional one hour lab tutorial each week. Stage 4 accelerator courses comprise of a 2-hour evening class.

REGISTER FOR AN ACCELERATOR COURSE

Prospective students should consider their circumstances very carefully, and whether they have enough time to dedicate to learning a language in addition to their academic workload and/or other commitments. The refund policy applies in all cases (see FAQ's).

Language Progression courses (18 weeks | 2 hours per week | £225/£200*)

Courses run from week commencing Mon 23 Oct to week ending Fri 8 Dec (7 weeks) + week commencing Mon 15 Jan to week ending Fri 16 March (9 weeks) + week commencing Mon 23 April to week ending Fri 4 May (2 weeks).

Please note that Language Progression courses follow the same format as last year's Language Enhancement courses. They have just simply been renamed.

Classes take place in Elvet Riverside, Durham except those marked * which take place in the Computer Science/Mathematical Sciences building, Durham. Queen's groups which take place in Ebsworth Building at Queen's Campus, Stockton.

*£200 fee applies to Durham University students and staff when registering with a Durham University email address.

Please note that for Portuguese Intermediate and Higher Intermediate and Russian Intermediate and Higher Intermediate, if registration numbers are too low to run each level, the option to run a mixed level class may be offered. If this happens, further details will be sent to enable you to make an informed decision on whether you wish to pursue.

Language Development Courses (9 weeks | 2 hours per week | £125)

Courses run from week commencing Mon 16 Oct to week ending Fri 15 Dec.

This format offers learners the opportunity to study in shorter blocks. Two Language Development courses (Step 1 + Step 2) are equivalent to one Language Progression course. You do not have to have completed Step 1 to register for a Step 2 as long as your level corresponds to the start of the latter.
