Senior Teaching Fellow in Accounting

Beth joined the Business School in 2015 from a position as Senior Lecturer in Accounting at Northumbria University.

Beth, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, enjoyed a successful career in Northern Ireland before coming to academic life in 2011. 

Biography

Beth joined the Business School in 2015 from a position as Senior Lecturer in Accounting at Northumbria University.

Beth, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, trained in practice and enjoyed a successful career in Northern Ireland before coming to academia. Her experience as a finance manager across a number of sectors including social housing, local government and the charities sector provides a solid base for her teaching in accounting, finance and management

A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Beth teaches on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules. She is also the Programme Director for our BA(Hons) Accounting and Finance and BA(Hons) Accounting and Management programmes.

Beth is a member of the British Accounting and Finance Association and is involved in the work of the Accounting Education Special Interest Group as this ties up with her research on accounting ethics education. She is also a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants Northern Counties Panel and works with this group providing networking and development opportunities to ACCA Members in the North East.
