Miss Eleftheria Vavadaki

PhD Student


Eleftheria is a civil engineer graduated from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) with Postgraduate studies in Water Resources Science and Technology (NTUA) and MSc studies in Flood Risk Management (TU Dresden, IHE-Delft The Netherlands, UPC-Barcelona and University of Ljubljana). Her work experience focused on urban flood modelling as well as structural design of residential buildings and infrastructure.

In April 2018 Eleftheria joined the Durham University Business School (DUBS) and the Institute of Hazard Risk and Resilience (IHRR) in order to explore the Financial Instruments for Natural Hazards in Developing countries, coupling her engineering background with Socioeconomics and Disaster Risk Finance.
