Advanced Research Computing

Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is a dedicated computing support unit within the Research Division of the University. We support academic researchers in all faculties across the University, where there is a requirement for the use of computers as part of their research. We provide facilities and expertise, connect people across different disciplines, and build on the services provided by Computing and Information Services. Our range of activity extends from simple coding assistance through to supporting computationally intensive research requiring High Performance Computing.

Introduction to Machine Learning with PyTorch

11th November 2021, 10:00 to 12:00, Jonathan Frawley

Have you heard the term "Machine Learning" but are not sure if it applies to your research? Do you already know how to program in Python?

Then this is the course for you!

Machine learning is the process of learning how to solve a problem using data. This course will introduce you to how machine learning can be used to solve real problems. This session will be a mix of theory and practical examples which use the Python programming language and the PyTorch framework. At the end of the session you will be able to run and modify a machine learning model. You should have the resources you need to start applying machine learning to your research.
