Academic Skills Workshops
Workshops: April-June open for booking
Who are they for?
Taught students are welcome to attend. Most are open to any year and any department but some workshops are tailored specifically for undergraduates or taught postgraduates, or for students from particular faculties. This is specified in the course title or description.
When, where and how are they run?
Run at Durham and Queen’s Campus, the workshops are offered at various times, including lunchtimes and early evenings and range in length from 50 minutes to 3 hours.
The workshops include group work, individual exercises and hand outs, giving you an opportunity to try out and discuss the skills explored.
Which should I attend?
You can attend as few or as many as you need but it is important to make best use of your time and think carefully about the academic skills you need to develop.
- Completing the Skills Audit will help you identify your training and development needs
- Your academic advisor can help you decide which workshops will be most useful.
