Excel courses

The ever-popular suite of Excel courses, First Steps with Excel 2016, Moving on with Excel 2016 and Advanced Excel 2016 have now been launched as e-learning courses via Duo. If you wish to enrol on one of the courses, please contact Sarah Dodds on it.training@durham.ac.uk stating the course you wish to enrol on and your CIS username.The content is identical to the classroom based courses so if you have already completed that course, there is no need to repeat the training.

Coding courses, MOOCs and resources

A list of courses, MOOCs and resourses providing an introduction to coding. All use current industry standard programming languages including Python, R and JavaScript and are free to enrol on, but some will require payment for a certificate.

One-to-one support

The IT Service Desk is your first point of contact for all requests, queries and issues (faults or problems) concerning University provided IT facilities and services.

You can contact the IT Service Desk in a number of ways:

  • Complete an online form
  • Call on Ext.: 41515 or 0191 334 1515.
  • In person at either the Durham IT Service Desk in Bill Bryson Library (2nd floor), Science Site (between 09:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday) or in the ISC Library in the Ebsworth Building, Stockton (between 09:00 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 16:45, each weekday, during term time only).
