Academic Office

As of 17th March 2020, most staff within the Academic Office have been working remotely from home and will continue to do so until further notice. Please contact staff using email/Microsoft Teams or other identified means of contact as directed by individual service webpages.

The Academic Office provides a professional administrative support service to staff, students and potential students of Durham University.

The Academic Registrar is the head of the department and is responsible to the Vice Provost (Education) for its management. Further information and contact details for the Academic Registrar's Office are available by following the link to the left.

Until the 1st September 2021, the Academic Office includes the following services.

  • Academic Registrar's Office
  • Access and Engagement*
  • Curriculum, Learning and Assessment (including Ceremonies, validated programmes and collaborative provision)
  • Recruitment and Admissions*
  • Student Immigration and Funding
  • Student Registry

*As from 1st September both Access and Engagement and Recruitment and Admissions will fall under the responsibility of PVC Global.
