Mental Health Advice and Counselling
As a Durham student, you'll find a wide support network available to you while studying at the University. Information can be found on the University Support pages.
Counselling Service and Mental Health Advice
The University Counselling Service is available to all students, offering up to six free sessions per academic year. For more information, please visit the University Counselling Service. We also have Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners who offer advice and self-help information for managing wellbeing, and Mental Health Advisors who help students access NHS services and liaise with academic departments and colleges where students are experiencing difficulty.
College
You will have access to welfare and support staff at your College throughout your time at the University for pastoral support, whether you live in College or out. Please contact your individual college for more information. If you have mental health difficulties, we suggest you inform your College either proactively, or on any form they ask you to complete in due course so that they can best support you. Please contact your college Mental Health Advisor if you need more information.
Information on self-help resources (Apps, guides, books) covering a wide range of issues available on the Self-Help webpage.
