What is the short loan collection?

The most heavily used books and journal articles are kept in the short loan collections at each of the Library sites. If you are looking for an item marked 'essential' on a reading list, then there is likely to be a short loan copy available. Items within the short loan collection may only be borrowed for four hours or overnight if issued to you from four hours before the library closes, due for return by one hour after the library opens the next morning. Short loan books may not be renewed.
