What does the shelfmark prefix '+' mean?

If the shelfmark for the book you need begins with a '+', the item is too large for our standard book shelves. Books with this prefix are shelved in a separate oversize section. In the Main Library, oversize ('+') books are on the same level as the main sequence (i.e. + 759 books may be found on the same floor as 759 items), but are situated at the far end of the level after the journals. Similarly, at Palace Green library you will find oversize materials in the same room as the other resources at that classmark, except for some oversize law journals which are housed in Room 4. At the Education library oversize items are shelved adjacent to the Teaching Resources Centre in Room 1.
