Can I get hold of a book that the Library doesn't stock?

Yes; the Library's Document Delivery Service (DDS) provides access to material which is not in stock locally. All kinds of printed or microform material can be obtained from other libraries or document supply centres, including:

- Books
- Theses
- Journal articles
- Conference Papers
- Patents

Please note that this service is for material not held at any of the Durham University libraries.

Alternatively, you can consult the item in question by visiting a library that stocks it. Try searching for the item on WorldCat (see link below): by entering your location, the catalogue will show you the nearest copy. If you are a part-time student, on a distance learning course, a member of staff or studying by research, you may be able to borrow the item from another library using the SCONUL access scheme.
