Accessing e-journals off-campus

Postby wkjf87 » 11 Mar 2012, 17:47

Trying to access an article by Buysse called 'Can sleep be bad for you? Can insomnia be good?' but i am having trouble. Here is the link: http://archpsyc.ama-assn.org/cgi/reprint/59/2/137
I went through the library website to the journal but it still asks me to sign in to access it, even after putting in my username and password. Have the library activated their subscription to this journal?

Our subscription to the Archives of General Psychiatry is active. You were correct in going through the Library catalogue to access the resource. When you get to the page where the resource asks you to log in, choose the 'Sign in via your institution' option. The location 'UK Access Management Federation' should be automatically selected. Then, under institution, scroll down to 'University of Durham' and click 'Select'. Then you should be directed to a log in screen - enter your CIS username and password as normal and you will be able to access the resource. It's a bit longwinded - if you're ever not sure how to access an e-resource, contact our e-resources team by emailing eresource.enquiry@durham.ac.uk or by contacting your Liaison Librarian. Their details can be found at: http://www.dur.ac.uk/library/resources/subject/

Accessing e-journals off-campus

Postby xzjq78 » 06 Jul 2012, 10:55

Hello! I am having problems in being able to receive access to electronic resources when being off-campus. I have been trying to access journal articles via the Library site, but when I go to the host site that has the resources needed, I receive a failure to connect message. Can I please get some help with this situation as I really need to work while I am away. Thank you very much!

If you're having problems accessing e-resources off campus and you've been accessing them via the Library catalogue, please contact our e-resources team by telephoning: 0191 334 2944 or emailing: eresource.enquiry@durham.ac.uk. They will be able to look into this in more detail and hopefully advise you on accessing the resource.
