Motivational speaker and Baptist Minister STEVE CHALKE, performance artists APPLECART, and worship leader JANE KITSON were among many who inspired and challenged participants at the Durham Open Summer School’s ‘Changing for Good’ event on 13th July. The ‘One Day Only’ event saw over 120 people descend on St John’s College for an exciting and transformative day of ministry, teaching, encouragement and fellowship.

A variety of workshops and seminars were on offer in the morning and afternoon which included: Paul Blakey MBE – founder of Street Angels, Revd Kate Bruce – Chaplain at St John’s College, and Revd Paul Lucas who offered guests an opportunity to participate in creating a wood sculptured ‘Tree of Life’.

Guests enjoyed a full programme throughout the day and had a choice of two evening events – a performance by ‘Applecart’ or a worship event with ‘Steve Chalke’. For those wanting a few moments of quiet or to take time out for prayer and reflection, a Prayer Station was set up in the Chapel.
