“The theme of pilgrimage and journey makes me smile somewhat as my journey in training was a bit of a stop/start affair. First I was here, then I wasn’t; then I was here and I was there – WSC and Cliff College that is, and sometimes I wasn’t sure if I was coming or going!
“However, during the time of training we have at least the destination of its completion and moving into circuit ministry, albeit probationary. Yet, no sooner do we arrive than we find that, rather than reaching a destination, we have actually embarked on yet another journey!
“As believers in Christ we really only have one ultimate destination; that of being one with God through Jesus Christ, beyond this life forever. In the meantime, we have choices to make and journeys to take within this life. I have come to realise that destiny is somehow embodied in the following of the call of Christ, wherever it may lead us, and that for the duration of this lifetime, the journey itself is the destination.”
