Wolfson Research Institute at the Houses of Parliament

Directorate and Fellows showcase the work of the Institute

The Wolfson Research Institute Directorate and a number of Fellows successfully hosted a showcase at the Houses of Parliament in London. The event involved exciting discussions with over 30 representatives from both Houses on a number of our research projects and our goals and aims for the future of the Institute.

The event was introduced by Roberta Blackman-Woods MP, who offered an introduction to the Institute in general before Professor Clare Bambra introduced the Wolfson representatives and their specialities; Dr Mark Booth, an expert on the epidemiology of parasitic infections in developing countries; Professor Pali Hungin OBE, Dean of Medicine and a leading researcher in gastroenterology and cardiovascular disease; Professor David Hunter an international expert in public health systems and management and an advisor to WHO Europe; Professor Carolyn Summerbell an expert on childhood nutrition and chair of the Association for the Study of Obesity; and Professor Greg Rubin - an expert in management of gastrointestinal problems who also leads the National Audit of Cancer Diagnosis in Primary Care on behalf of the Royal College of General Practitioners and chairs the Royal College of General Practitioners' Scientific Foundation Board.
