Biography

Jonathan Wistow is a Research Fellow in the School of Applied Social Sciences at Durham University and works full time on the 'Comparative analysis of how local system factors affect progress tackling health inequalities' research project. This is his first job as a full time researcher having previously combined working as a local government officer with postgraduate research. His research interests include health inequalities, public health, governance, local government, state capacity and globalisation, risk, and accountability. He gained an MA in Social Policy and Research Methods from the University of York in 2002 and a PhD from Durham University in 2007.
