What's On
Cell Mechanics and Cell-Matrix Interactions
29th May 2013, 14:00, Rosemary Cramp Lecture Theatre, Calman Learning Centre.
This workshop aims to provide an overview state of the art of research on tissue mechanics for an interdisciplinary audience. From a soft matter/biophysics perspective tissues can be modelled as biologically active matter, made of cells, capable of exerting forces and responding to stresses.
This Centre for Soft Matter workshop will address the questions: How do we understand the collective behaviour of cells that make up a tissue using mathematical modelling guided by experiments? Can abnormal cell division leading to cancer be modelled mathematically aided by experiments?
