Ustinov College Café Politique: 'Inside Israel: Critical reflections on current internal challenges'. May 7th @6pm.
Ustinov College warmly invites you to the next Cafe Politique exploring the internal challenges Israel is facing today. This is an opportunity for anyone who is interested in finding out more about the topic to participate in an informal seminar and contribute to the discussion with the panelists and other members of the audience.
Our speakers will be: Alan Craig, Pears Lecturer in Israel and Middle East Studies at the University of Leeds who will talk about 'Western-Style Protest in the Middle East: the Paradox of Israel’s 2011 Tent Protests'; Clive Jones, Professor of Regional Security at the School of Government and International Affairs, Durham University, who will discuss Jewish Radicalism in Israel; and Una McGahern, Leverhulme Early Career Fellow, at the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology, Newcastle University, who will present on Voluntary Military Conscription and Israel’s Palestinian Arab Minority. Join us at Fisher Cafe, Ustinov College, South Road at 6 PM on Tuesday 7th May - the event is free and open to all; coffee, drinks and nibbles will be served.
