Winged Creatures

TAKE PART in the exhibition of the Lindisfarne Gospels! Free workshops are being held to create work responding to and some to be exhibited as part of the Lindisfarne Gospels Durham exhibition at Durham University’s Palace Green Library this summer.

Professional artist Vicky Holbrough will lead individuals and families, assisting them in creating pieces of work, a selection of which will be displayed. The workshops are aimed at ages 8 to adult (younger participants may need adult support and all children should be accompanied by a responsible adult). Taking inspiration from the portraits of the Evangelists in the Lindisfarne Gospels, you will create your own, 3-D winged creature. The workshop will be held in the Great Kitchen which is on the south side of the Cloisters, adjacent to the restaurant. Drop in sessions (15 people per session) will take place at the following times: 10am – 11am 11am – 12noon 12.30pm – 1.30pm 2.30pm – 3.30pm Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
