United Nations Society: Panel Discussion on Humanitarian Intervention
The United Nations Society is proud to welcome Dame Margaret Anstee, DCMG, former Under Secretary-General of the United Nations; Mr. Andrew Wander, a prominent journalist for "Al Jazeera" and Dr. Angela Joya of Durham University's School of Government and International Affairs, to express and share with members of the Durham community their expertise and views on both the nature and the morality of humanitarian intervention.
The event will take place in Calman Learning Centre, Room 202. Doors will open at 7:30pm with the discussion itself expected to begin at 8pm. The event is open to all. It is free for members who are reminded to bring along their membership cards for identification purposes. and £3 for non-members of the Society. Non-members are welcomed to join the Society at the door. All finances shall contribute towards supporting the work of the Society, including inviting more high-profile experts in future.
