Art Tours, Palatine Centre
Conducted by Henry Dyson, Keeper of Fine Art in the University.
The newly opened Palatine Centre which houses key student services and the University’s headquarters on one site, along with Durham Law School is also home to a brand new art collection. Each Wednesday from 14th November, art tours of the Palatine Centre are available to staff and students.
The collection includes a Relief Sculpture of Elvet Colliery (originally on the site); a Mural of Crystal Forms based on an original design by John Tunnard; the Sphere of Redemption by Fay Pomerance; a Collection of African Art, Collections of Pictures by Sandra Blow, Victor Vaserely, Alexander Calder, Terry Frost, Andy Warhol, Victor Pasmore, Henry Moore and many others. Art tours conducted by Henry Dyson, Keeper of Fine Art in the University, are available to staff and students.
Tours will take place at 2pm on Wednesdays during term time.
Tours are free of charge and commence at at the Palatine Centre reception.
