The Sound of Zen: Music for shakuhachi and biwa

Musicon Festival of East Asian MusicContinuing an ancient tradition that uses the shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) as a tool for enlightenment, Master Kiku Day plays a raw and deeply spiritual repertoire rarely heard in concert. She is joined by Thomas Charles Marshall, one of the few highly trained experts of the biwa (pear shaped lute) in the West.
