Volcanic Facies

The main areas of volcanological research include (1) the 3D architecture of lavas and pyroclastic rocks in large igneous provinces; (2) the interaction of lavas and intrusions with sediments and the diagenetic effects this has on porosity and permeability, and; (3) physical properties of volcanic rocks (microtextures, porosity and permeability).
