Van Mildert College Trust

Events

The support of our friends and alumni is very important to us! You are the key to us realising our overall aim; to enrich the academic, cultural, social and material welfare of Van Mildert College.

There are many ways to stay in touch with your college. Van Mildert's alumni community; the Van Mildert Association (VMA), organise the annual reunion weekends along with a range of other events, while also keeping you updated with college happenings and news from your fellow alumni. Further details about the VMA can be found on the College's website. We also have a termly college e-newsletter; the Mildert Messenger, which you are welcome to receive. If you do not currently receive the Mildert Messenger, please get in touch with the College Secretary, Sharon Swainston (sharon.swainston@durham.ac.uk), who will arrange this for you.

Van Mildert College Trust also organises a range of events to which alumni are very welcome. These range from termly informal drinks events in London and Manchester, to receptions at some of Londons most sought-after venues. The Trust's Annual Lecture, which is held in the Michaelmas term, also continues to attact a line-up of distinguished academics, writers and broadcasters including Prof. John Barrow and Lord Melvin Bragg. In 2012 our speaker is the renowned neuroscientist Prof. Uta Frith, and Lord Peter Hennessy has already agreed to speak in 2013. Further details about all of these events can be found in the pages that follow.

Whether you are a recent graduate of the College, a founding member or a friend, we would be delighted to meet you at one of our forthcoming events!
