Projects and Fundraising

Through fundraising and donations from its members, the Van Mildert Association contributes to a variety of projects that help improve life for Van Mildert students and develop the college itself. All fundraising and donations is used solely by VMA for Van Mildert and Van Mildert students, meaning that you can be sure your funds were used for the purpose they were intended.

Van Mildert College Travel Bursaries

The VMA contributes to the college's travel bursaries fund which helps students with the cost of travel abroad. The fund helps support students looking to further their learning through foreign visits connected with their academic studies.

Van Mildert College Young Persons' Project

VMA funding has been decisive in helping to support Van Mildert's Young Persons' Project (YPP), which works with young people from the local area to expand their access to higher education and to encourage children (especially those from under-privileged backgrounds) to consider further study when they leave school.

Van Mildert College Careers Dialogue

The annual careers dialogue invites VMA members from the professions to return to college for the weekend to offer a series of talks, and advice, to Van Mildert students considering their career options. As well as providing yet another valuable link between Van Mildert's student body and its alumni, this scheme is often an invaluable resource for students unsure of their career options.
