VMA - the Association for Van Mildert alumni

The Van Mildert Association (VMA) is the association for alumni of Van Mildert College, Durham, and has a membership of many thousands of former students ("Mildertians") from around the world.

On this website, you can find information on forthcoming events and reunions, news from fellow alumni, news about the college, information about VMA projects and further information about the VMA itself.

The VMA - along with the Junior Common Room, Middle Common Room and Senior Common Room - is an integral part of the college. Its functions include:

  • organising events for its members throughout the UK;
  • updating members on the latest college news through its annual magazine, VMA News;
  • supporting Van Mildert students and student projects through grants; and
  • representing the views of alumni.

All Van Mildert students are automatically members of the Association unless they specifically opt out and membership is for life. For more information on joining, visit the membership webpage.

The VMA committee is elected annually at the annual general meeting. For more information about the Association and its work, contact the College Development Officer (vm.development@durham.ac.uk).
