University Hardship Fund
University Hardship Fund
Students who are not eligible to apply to the Access to Learning Fund (almost all postgraduate students) can apply to the University Hardship Fund if they experience unexpected hardship or unanticipated expenditure, and would not be able to continue their studies without financial support. Support from the University Hardship Fund is limited, and only available to students who can demonstrate unexpected financial difficulties and a sound financial plan prior to starting their studies.
Part of the process of applying to the University Hardship Fund involves a review of your budget. This includes looking at your bank statements and spending habits. You may be advised to decrease your spending in certain areas.
How to Apply
Students considering an application for any hardship funding are advised to speak to the Student Support Officer before making the application. Application forms are available from Fisher House and Old Shire Hall. All applications are considered by a college committee and by the University's Student Financial Support Committee.
