Arts, Music and Societies

The Graduate Common Room helps organise societies. There are a number of societies including interest groups and music groups at Ustinov including:

Interest Groups

• Film Club
• Bridge Club
• Philosophy Group
• Hellenic Society
• Chinese Association
• Students who enjoy debating also become involved in Durham Union Society

The Howlands Choir

Music Groups

• The Howlands Choir: with a repertoire is mostly sacred/secular choral music, a capella
• Ustinov Music Society: which aims to promote music more generally and runs the music practice room

We also hold several music events throughout the year. If there isn't a society for what you're interested in, you can start your own.
