Accommodation

We offer single, couples and family College accommodation at Ustinov. Our College residences are based on two different sites, convenient for different departments of the University. These locations are Howlands Farm, which is a short walk to the majority of departments including the School of Government and International Affairs, the Business School, the science departments and the university library and only a few more minutes to the arts, humanities and social science departments based on Old Elvet and New Elvet, and Dryburn Court, just to the north of the city centre. Single and couples accommodation is based at both locations. Family accommodation is based at Dryburn Court in Keenan House.

Single Accommodation Details

Our single accommodation is based at both Howlands Farm and Dryburn Court.

Howlands Farm

All bedrooms typically include: single bed, desk and chair, wardrobe, set of drawers, bookshelves and waste bin. En-suite rooms have private bathroom facilities with a toilet, wash basin and shower. Rooms in Pine, Elm, Redwood and Oak are in flats of 6 rooms. Each single room door locks and there is a lock on the flat door. Rooms in the other blocks at Howlands are on floors of 6-10 rooms, and each bedroom has a lock. Paired rooms are not shared rooms - there are two separate rooms which share a shower room. The bedrooms lock, as does the shower room.

 

An average single en-suite bedroom measures: 4.7m x 2.7m

An average standard bedroom measures: 3.3m x 2.8m

 

For 2013-14 we have 550 single rooms in total at Howlands Farm and Brackenbury.

Dryburn Court

Our single accommodation at Dryburn Court is based in the Brackenbury building. There are four flats with six bedrooms in each flat, each bedroom locks and there is a lock on the flat door. All bedrooms are ensuite (own toilet and shower) and each flat contains a shared living room and kitchen with a washing machine. We have two wheelchair accessible rooms. There is a common room in Keenan House and shared parking between both houses.
