Ustinov College

Ustinov Intercultural Forum (UIF)

Ustinov College is a unique college located at Durham University. Not only is the college special in that it is the only solely Postgraduate College, but it also brings together students from more than 100 countries around the world in a county which is statistically one of the least diverse in the UK. Because of this, Ustinov College is the most multi-cultural college in Durham University, and one of the most multi-cultural student communities in the UK!

In a community full of differences, we believe that instead of separating students, these aspects of diversity should be seen as strengths, and engagement with these differences deserves much greater attention. The primary objective of The Ustinov Intercultural Forum is to promote interactions among students at Ustinov College and beyond who share the same or different cultural backgrounds in the form of social events, group discussion, cultural presentations, workshops, visits and travel, etc. Through various activities, The UIF hopes to enrich the lives and studies of students at Durham and create opportunities for students who are interested in learning about different cultures and languages to share and promote their own culture as well as develop in-depth and mutual understanding of diversity among Ustinovians and the larger community. The UIF is free and open to anyone. We are always interested in getting people to join. The only qualification needed is a desire to be involved. The experience will be a unique and significant benefit both to your time in Durham and your career in the future! Please get in touch!
