Undercroft Bar

The College is proud of its bar in the atmospheric 11th Century Undercroft, with arches and stone work. It is the focal point of the College – a place to meet, chat and relax. The Castle bar is the responsibility of the Food & Beverages Service Manager, Sarah Cherryman, but during term-time much of the running of the bar is undertaken by the JCR though the JCR Bar Chairman and Bar Vice-Chairman. Members of the JCR serve behind the bar (and are paid by the College for that).

Undercroft Bar

There is always a great selection of beverages available. Events (‘Ents’) are held in the bar, usually live music, discos and karoke, but also bar quizzes on occasion. The projection screen and TV in the bar are often used to show major sports events.

TV Lounge

University College JCR has TV in the West Courtyard common room and a projection screen and TV in the Undercroft bar for digital, Sky and DVD/VHS and AV equipment. There is also an XBox with a good selection of games.

Games Room

We have a toastie bar in the West Courtyard.

Games Room

The JCR has a pool table in the West Courtyard and a full-size snooker table in Cosin’s Hall.
