Welcome to University College
University College is a vibrant scholarly and residential community. From the UK and overseas, we are home to around 700 undergraduates and 200 postgraduates. We are also host to 400 Senior Common Room members, comprising staff, Visiting Fellows, and eminent people from the local community. Located in the historic Durham Castle, we are the oldest college of Durham University.

University College PhD Student to appear on BBC documentary

University College PhD student Emma Wells is to appear on a BBC documentary.
Emma, who is a PhD candidate in Archaeology, was recently filmed for a regional history documentary, “From Dale to Sea – A Great British Story” which will be aired on Tuesday 12th June at 10.35pm on BBC One. The programme also includes Gary Bankhead, a current undergraduate in Archaeology.
The programme can be seen live outside of the North East & Cumbria on Sky Channel 975, Freesat Channel 956 and will also be available for the following 7 days on the BBC iPlayer . The programme ties in with the network series "The Great British Story" on BBC Two.
