+I am travelling by train. How do I get to the University from the station?

Durham City visitors – Durham train station is approximately a 30 minute walk to the University's Science site, where the tour begins from. If you need guidance on how to get to the science site please contact us.

Queen’s Campus visitors – The nearest train station to Queen’s Campus is Thornaby, the closest main line station being Darlington. Thornaby station is approximately a 10 minute walk from Queen’s Campus. When leaving the train station visitors should walk up the steps and turn right at the top. When you have come down the steps turn right and walk straight on until you reach a roundabout where you should take the second exit (signposted for the campus). Walking down Harvard Avenue, you will walk straight on passing Stockton Riverside College on your right. You will see the new Infinity Bridge straight ahead of you. You will reach another roundabout where you turn right onto University Boulevard to enter Queen’s Campus. The Holliday building, where you should register, is on your left.
