Durham Gifted and Talented Summer School

22 - 28 August 2010

Based in Van Mildert College at Durham, this free one week summer school is designed to give exceptionally gifted and talented young people aged between 11 and 16 a unique opportunity to benefit from innovative and challenging courses, run by distinguished staff in an intellectually stimulating environment. These courses, combined with a full and varied social programme, mean that students genuinely experience life in a university. Places on the Durham Gifted and Talented Summer School are available to students in Years 7 to 11 although some courses may be restricted to those in years 10 to 11 due to the course content.

The national Young, Gifted and Talented (YG&T) programme has established an Excellence Hub for Gifted and Talented students in each of the nine government regions. As the leader of the North East Excellence Hub, our aim is to support the development of all able students through the provision of educationally challenging and inspiring programmes.
