Our locations

When you join us, you'll either be in Durham City or at Queen's Campus, Stockton depending on where your course is based. Wherever you are, you'll enjoy a fantastic student lifestyle, in lively surroundings and with a superb choice of events and entertainment.

The University has been named the third safest university in England and Wales by The Complete University Guide 2013, as it has the third lowest incidence of student-relevant crime within three miles of its campus, making the University a safe place for its students to live, work and study. 

On this part of the site you can find out more about student life across both of our locations. Durham City and Queen's Campus, Stockton offer a choice of environments, each distinctive and outstanding in their own way. If your course is based in Durham, you will be a member of a Durham-based college. If your course is based at Queen's Campus, you will be a member of a Queen's-based college.

If you feel like branching out, you'll find plenty to interest you in and around both Durham City and Stockton, and the wider North East Region.

Getting around

Whilst your academic studies will take place at the campus where your course is based, a free intercampus bus makes it easy to travel between Durham City and Queen's Campus. So wherever you're based, you can experience the attractions of both places. Then within each site, you can reach your lectures, libraries, and most of the entertainment venues, on foot.

What's On?

The University is a hub of events and activities for staff, students and the local community. Our 'What's On' Guide provides a great way to organise your social diary as well as helping you get involved in free or subsidised activities.
