College and University chaplains

The Chaplains at Durham, both ordained and lay make up part of the Student Support Structure of the University, and you are welcome to  contact us for any pastoral support, whether it is related to a faith issue or not. As Durham is a Collegiate University much of the Chaplaincy is based in Colleges, but there are also denominational Chaplains who cover the University as a whole.

DUECC

DUECC is a student ecumenical body that seeks to co-ordinate Chaplaincy and Christian groups at Durham University. Other faith traditions

The Chaplains are here to support all members of the University, including those from different faith traditions from their own. Please do feel free to contact us if you are looking for a group that will support you in your faith, or help you to explore your faith further. Particularly in the first week of freshers' week when Ramadan falls, we can put you in touch with those from a similar faith community as your own. You may also find the following contacts helpful:

Vocations

University is a setting where individuals may consider their purpose in life, and reflect on how their lives might progress. Jonathan Lawson is the Anglican  University Vocations Adviser and you can contact him on j.h.lawson@durham.ac.uk or 48522 (Internal) or as appropriate one of the denominational Chaplains. If you are a Methodist and are interested in exploring the possibility of vocation please contact Julie Lunn 0191 384 7950.
